Brownies are great. Period. They don’t need an intro.
One of my best pals inspired this recipe, she’s a big fan of Terry’s Chocolate Oranges so I thought why not bang it in a brownie. If you’d like to follow suit, here’s how
Melt 200g of orange dark chocolate (I used Terry’s Orange, 200g is about 1 and a half). Melt either in a microwave or over a pan of water. Allow to cool slightly.
Combine 170g self raising flour, 3 tbsp of cocoa powder and 180g sugar (I prefer to use brown sugar because I like the taste, but whatever is
fine). Add this to the melted chocolate, with a pinch of salt. Add the zest of 1 orange for an extra orange tang.
Stir through 5 tbsp of oil (either vegetable/sunflower/coconut – if using coconut make sure it’s melted), and 230ml Oat milk (I use Oatly).
Pour in to a tin lined with baking paper & foil underneath.
Top with the remaining chocolate orange segments, or extra chocolate chunks.
Bake at 180C fan for 20-25 mins, it should still wobble a little when you shake the tin. It will firm up as it cools, this just means it will be nice and fudgy.
Allow to cool in the tin, then cut in to squares.
EAT IT ALL AT ONCE.
